BAPE STORE Beijing Opening Recap

A Bathing Ape recently made its latest inroad into the Chinese market with a new BAPE STORE in Beijing. Located at the ground floor of the I.T Beijing Market within the VILLAGE shopping district, the store’s interior maintains a familiar theme courtesy of Wonderwall’s architectural involvement. A full selection of A Bathing Ape lines are offered with some limited edition opening items such as T-shirts, Bapestas and Shark hoodies.

Although Holiday 2010 stands as one of the more exciting seasons in recent times, Holiday 2011 will stand toe-to-toe with this year as we learn that Jordan Brand has confirmed another retro of its Air Jordan III in the iconic black/cement colorway. Following news of a Concord XI drop during the same season, the shoes will once again grace store shelves even though the shoes were retroed not too long ago via the CDP. Official imagery of both hasn’t been released but samples are sure to be floating around once 2011 arrives.

Hermes Paris New Boutique

Sitting in amongst a dried up swimming pool, the new Hermes boutique in Paris has opened. With the help of architectural firm RDAI, the store boasts large scale wooden sculptures and walls to create intimate shopping spaces within such a large area as well as sweeping staircases which beautifully guide you around. I just found some news that Nike have all the hardcore collectors sweating, as they unveil a look into the official patent for an automatic lacing system from Nike. The design eerily resembles the system featured within Nike’s Air Mag, Marty McFly’s sneakers in the cult film Back to the Future II. This information comes from the World Intellectual Property Organization website, with Tinker Hatfield and the designers at Nike’s Innovative Kitchen listed on the proposition.

Nike Air Mag “Marty McFly” Auction

Ever wondered what happened the Nike Air Mag sported by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II? Ever wanted to own the very pair worn by Michael J. Fox on set? Well here’s your chance. At least equalling the rarest shoes of all time and certainly one of the most pined after, fans are now able to bid on the legendary sneaker in the hopes of owning the pair. Frankly the 1989-made grail looks a little tired and shows some series cracking on the midsole, though this hasn’t prevent the estimated value of the sneakers reaching a staggering $12000 – $15000.

Audi A7 “Spray” Video

Starting back on October 18th in Berlin, Audi helped promote their new car, the A7. A massive piece done entirely through the use of spray paint was created at a high-traffic area. The almost 11,000 square feet billboard took 14 days to complete. The campaign hinges on Audi’s desire to highlight the ability to create from a blank slate.
