Situated in Luz-Lagos, Portgual, architect Mario Martins created the “House Colunata” by making use of local building techniques and locally sourced materials. House Colunata was also strategically built to maximize the impressive panoramic views as well as provide the home with the best solar orientation and protection against the elements. Looking in from the water, the stark white of the home’s exterior contrasts boldly with the dusty rock landscape of the shore, while a reverse view sees the clean walls and hard lines blending seamlessly into the expansive, rich blue sky and water.

KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.

There is no denying that the reach of social media has affected our planet, connecting individuals at a pace and personal level that could never have been predicted. KONY 2012, a year long project created by Invisible Children, intends to use this revolutionary social tool to spread the word and make known Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in Uganda. For over 20 years, Kony has abducted children and forced them into warfare to serve his own motivation for power. The purpose of the KONY 2012 campaign is simply to make him famous, not so that he may be celebrated, but because the idea that knowledge is power. If the world is aware of his agenda, we will be motivated to stop him. Throughout this exceptionally compelling and well made 30 minute video, director Jason Russell narrates and tells the story of how he got involved with this crisis and how he feels a new precedent for international justice can be set if the word is spread about Joseph Kony, eventually leading to his arrest. The Chance – A Search for the Best Amateur Players

In conjunction with Nike Football, Manager Pep Guardiola of F.C. Barcelona launches “The Chance” 2012 – “a unique global football talent search that gives young amateur footballers from around the world the chance to prove themselves on an elite stage and take their game to the highest level.. On an-other level“

Over the next six months, Guardiola is looking to give the brightest amateur players, 16 and older, the opportunity to play at some of the leading football facilities in the world, showcasing their talent in front of Nike coaches and mentors, with one goal – to get noticed. After narrowing the applicants to a field of 100, the players will take part in an intense training and competition schedule in Barcelona, while being evaluated by a world-class team of coaches and scouts.

From there, the best 16 footballers will be chosen to experience the ultimate four-week training tour, taking on some of the most renowned academy teams in the world, including Manchester United and the U.S. Youth National Team. Players can register themselves, and their teams, by building a “team page” on “The Chance” app, which is available via the Nike Football Facebook page.

Nike scouts will then select teams to visit and watch them play, with the hopes of spotting talented individuals and rewarding them with an entry to their local country final. Running alongside this unique talent showcase, is a competition that recognizes and celebrates emerging talent within the creative industry. Young photographers and filmmakers from across the globe are encouraged to participate in the competition, working with creative mentors from Nike, and ambassador for the project, the film director, writer, producer and actor, Spike Lee
